Introduced in 1999, the Tourbillon Souverain was the first timepiece released under the F.P.Journe name to bring together two remarkable horological mechanisms in a wristwatch: the remontoir d’égalité, regarded as one of the pinnacles of traditional pocket watchmaking, and the tourbillon, often considered the heart of mechanical watchmaking.

‘투르비용 수버랭’(1999)은 회중시계 제작의 성배라 불리는 ‘레몽투아’와 기계식 시계의 심장인 ‘투르비용’을 세계 최초로 한 손목시계에 결합해 F.P.Journe의 이름으로 내놓은 작품이며, 시계사에서 반드시 알아야 할 피스다. 2015년 미국 시계 전문 업체(Crown & Caliber)와의 인터뷰에서 “남들과 똑같은 것을 만들 거라면, 굳이 내가 만들 이유가 없다”라고 말하는 F.P.Journe의 창립자 프랑수아-폴 주른(François-Paul Journe)의 시계에는 투르비용이 자주 등장한다.
